GPBL-2's Canton Conquest Holding Tryout Camp


Canton - The Canton Conquest professional basketball team will hold tryouts in Canton, OH March 21st.

Registration fee is $100. Players will be participate in drills, and scrimmages.

The tryout will take place at the SE Community Center - 1400 Sherrick Road, Canton OH 44707.

Registration begins at 2pm, and tryouts begin 3pm.

GPBL-2's River City Holding Tryout Camp in TN


Johnson City - On Point Basketball, the parent company of the River City Red Wasps will hold tryouts in Knoxville, TN March 12th-14th.

Registration fee is $200. Players will be divided into teams, and will participate in a round-robin style tournament over the three day period.

Mac Claire, the president of Global Professional Basketball League-2 (GPBL-2) the league in which the Red Wasps will play in the 2010 
season,  will be at the exposure camps as well as other scouts and coaches.  Those who excel at the camps will be given the opportunity 
to play for the River City Red Wasps inaugural season, which runs  April-July.

Global Professional Basketball League2 (GPBL2) acquires the United Regions Basketball League, names new President


BURBANK, February 12 – The Global Professional Basketball League (GPBL) announced today that it has acquired the United Regions Basketball League and will merge it with is newly created Global Professional Basketball League2 (GPBL-2) as part of an aggressive expansion plan. As part of the deal, current URBL President Mac Claire will be named president of the GPBL-2. Also, Rod Myers has now been promoted to President of the GPBL. The announcement was made today at a press conference in Canton, OH by Rod Myers, President of the GPBL.

Global Professional Basketball League (GPBL) opens developmental branch league, GPBL2


BURBANK, February 12 – The Global Professional Basketball League (GPBL) announced today that it has launched a developmental branch league of its parent league to be called Global Professional Basketball League2 (GPBL-2). The move was made in order to bring in more teams playing in smaller venues to be a part of a larger professional organization. The announcement was made today at a press conference in Hollywood, CA by Rod Myers, Director of PR/Broadcast Media, GPBL.
